The Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost’s front suspension is a hydraulic fork, meaning it uses oil-filled cartridges and internal pistons to manage both compression and rebound damping. In practice this gives riders a more consistent feel over roots, rocks and potholes than simpler spring or elastomer forks. Typical travel on comparable e-bikes ranges from 80 mm to 120 mm (about 3.1–4.7 inches), and a hydraulic design helps ensure that most of that travel is active under load rather than bottoming out or feeling harsh.

Compared with budget models that rely on basic coil springs or rubber blocks, the Pro 3.0 Boost’s hydraulic system lets you fine-tune how quickly the fork compresses under impact and how fast it returns to its neutral position. On mixed-surface rides—gravel fire roads, light singletrack or rough urban streets—you’ll notice fewer jolts transmitted to your hands and shoulders. This translates to less fatigue on longer outings (for example, after 30–50 km of mixed terrain) and better traction when accelerating or cornering at speed.

This level of front suspension really matters for riders who spend significant time off pavement or who want to push harder on uneven terrain. Gravel-and-dirt commuters, weekend trail explorers and anyone tackling fire-road climbs will appreciate the added control and comfort. Conversely, if your daily route is smooth asphalt and your average ride length is under 10 km, the benefits of a hydraulic fork may be less pronounced—but for off-pavement use, it’s a clear step up over entry-level suspension.
