Starts from a standstill feel gentle rather than punchy, so you won’t get the same surge you’d feel on bikes with higher torque figures.

This torque level is best suited for riders whose routes are mostly flat or gently rolling—daily commuters, leisure cyclists, or those carrying minimal cargo. If your rides involve frequent, steep inclines or heavy loads, a model closer to the 69 Nm average will offer noticeably stronger hill-climbing power and quicker acceleration. For straightforward urban cruising and moderate countryside jaunts, however, the ENGWE N1 Air’s 40 Nm mid-drive motor provides adequate support while keeping weight and complexity down.
