The ENGWE P275 Pro does not include a throttle, which means riders must pedal to activate its electric drive. Instead of a twist‐grip or push‐button throttle, this model relies exclusively on pedal‐assist sensors to deliver power. Under European standards, it provides assistance up to 25 km/h once the pedals are turning, but you won’t be able to cruise at low speeds without pedaling.

In comparison, many e-bikes equipped with throttles allow you to engage the motor from a standstill and maintain speeds of around 6 mph (10 km/h) without any pedaling input. Throttle‐equipped models can be easier for quick off‐the‐line acceleration or for riders who need to keep their feet off the pedals at stoplights. Since the P275 Pro omits this feature, it prioritizes a lighter system and tighter compliance with EU pedal‐assist regulations, rather than the extra convenience that a throttle brings.

The absence of a throttle matters most to commuters or leisure cyclists who might prefer a “hands‐free” power boost in heavy traffic or when setting off on hills. Riders seeking maximum exercise or wanting the simplest, regulation-friendly setup may appreciate the P275 Pro’s pure pedal-assist approach. Those with limited leg strength or a desire to minimize physical effort, however, could miss the option to engage the motor without pedaling.
