For riders, this rigidity brings a few clear trade-offs. On smooth pavement and bike lanes, weight savings from a simple fork—often shaving off 1 to 2 pounds compared to a basic suspension fork—mean easier acceleration and a snappier feel up to cruising speed. Maintenance is practically nonexistent, too, since there are no seals or oil to service. However, on rough roads or gravel trails, the lack of travel puts more vibration through the handlebars; you may find yourself standing more often to absorb shocks with your legs and arms.

This setup matters most for urban commuters and delivery riders whose routes stay on consistent pavement. If your average ride is under 30 miles on well-paved streets, the P275 ST’s rigid fork can make your daily trips more efficient and reliable. Conversely, if you regularly tackle unpaved paths, pothole-filled roads or forest tracks, a model with at least 50 mm of suspension travel may provide a noticeably smoother experience.
