That extra few inches of height delivers noticeable benefits in stiffness and handling. The straight, uninterrupted top tube helps the frame resist torsion when pedaling hard or cornering at speed, giving sport-oriented riders a more responsive feel. Compared with lower-step frames, you’ll often gain a bit more leverage for power transfer and a more aggressive riding position—appealing to commuters who want quick accelerations and nimble maneuvering in traffic.

A step-over layout matters most if you’re comfortable swinging a leg over a higher tube—typically adults between about 5′6″ and 6′3″ in height. If you frequently ride in shorts or cycling gear, and don’t mind that small hurdle at each stoplight, the P275 Pro’s frame delivers the firm ride and confident handling many enthusiasts seek. Riders with limited mobility, taller skirts or inseam measurements below roughly 30 inches may find a lower-step or step-through design easier to mount.
