🏔️ Rear Suspension

The ENGWE P275 Pro comes with no rear suspension—that is, it provides zero millimeters of travel at the back. Riders relying on this bike will feel every bump, crack and curb edge transmitted straight through the frame into the saddle. While the front suspension fork on many P275 Pro setups offers around 80 mm of travel to soften impacts at the handlebars, the rear remains rigid, and shock absorption depends entirely on tire volume and seat-post flex.

By contrast, many urban e-bikes on the market now feature 40 mm to 80 mm of rear travel, and dedicated off-road or trail models commonly offer 100 mm or more. Those extra millimeters of suspension can reduce rider fatigue over extended rides and smooth out rough terrain, but they also add complexity, weight (often 2–4 kg more), and maintenance points. With the P275 Pro’s rigid rear end, you lose some comfort on uneven surfaces but gain in pedaling efficiency, lower upkeep costs and slightly better power transfer to the ground.

This setup will suit riders who spend most of their time on paved roads, bike paths or relatively smooth gravel routes and who value lightweight, low-maintenance builds. Commuters and weekend explorers who prefer a firmer ride, want to maximize battery range and don’t mind channeling every ripple in the road through the frame will appreciate the ENGWE P275 Pro’s rear-suspension-free design. Those planning frequent off-road adventures or chasing long days on bumpy trails may find a bike with dedicated rear shock travel more comfortable.
