Rotor diameter directly affects braking torque and heat dispersion: a larger rotor offers a longer lever arm and better cooling, translating to stronger and more consistent stopping power under heavy use. In numeric terms, the P275 SE’s 160 mm rotor provides about 6 percent less braking leverage than a 170 mm rotor, all else being equal.

In practice, a 160 mm front rotor is common on commuter and light-duty electric bikes where weight savings and compact handling matter more than extreme stopping force. Riders who stick to urban streets, bike paths, or gentle trails will find the Engwe’s braking performance perfectly adequate for everyday speeds up to 20–25 mph. The slightly smaller rotor also shaves off a bit of unsprung weight at the wheel, which can make steering feel a bit more responsive.
