NFC anti-theft draws minimal power—typically under 5 mA in standby—so its impact on overall battery life is negligible. In real-world tests, scooters with NFC security showed less than a 1% reduction in range over 100 miles of riding. The convenience of instant locking outweighs this slight draw, making NFC anti-theft an efficient security addition for daily commuters.
