Ausom L1 ABE: 90 km Commuter Scooter with Dual Suspension
Designed for commuters who prioritize distance and stability, the 2025 Ausom L1 ABE sets itself apart with a massive 998 Wh battery that promises up to 90 km of range under ideal conditions. Dual suspension and pneumatic tires absorb urban bumps, while IP54 water resistance keeps you moving through light rain. Tipping the scales at 29.6 kg, it’s heavier than many e-scooters, but this mass contributes to a smoother ride and robust 930 W motor performance. A downside is the 14-hour charge time, which requires overnight planning. Priced at USD 620 and backed by a two-year warranty, the L1 ABE offers exceptional long-distance capability, making it best suited for riders who need reliable all-day commuting without frequent recharges. At USD 620, it undercuts many long-range competitors without sacrificing core features, delivering a blend of affordability and endurance rarely seen at this price point.
Real-World Range: Maximizing 90 km on the L1 ABE
Despite its impressive 90 km range rating, actual mileage on the Ausom L1 ABE can vary based on factors like rider weight, terrain, and speed. A lighter rider (under 75 kg) cruising at moderate speeds (15–18 km/h) on flat surfaces can approach the advertised 90 km. Hilly routes or aggressive acceleration reduce range by 10–30%. Dual suspension and pneumatic tires add weight but improve efficiency on bumpy roads by maintaining traction. For best results, maintain tire pressure at 40 psi, avoid full-throttle starts, and consider eco mode if available. Real-world tests by ScooterRank confirmed consistent 80 km runs under mixed urban conditions.
Portability vs Power: Transporting a 29.6 kg Scooter
With a curb weight of 29.6 kg, the Ausom L1 ABE sits on the heavier end of commuter scooters. Folding down to transport or store requires both hands and a sturdy grip on the 930 W motor housing. Users should factor in this weight when lifting stairs or carrying onto public transport—extended use may tire out even strong riders. Compared to sub-25 kg models, the L1 ABE offers superior range and stability but sacrifices ease of portability. Ausom includes a robust fold-and-lock mechanism and a wide deck to simplify handling, yet most owners recommend an aftermarket shoulder strap or scooter cart for frequent portage.
