Where carbon may crack under severe impact, aluminum is more forgiving in urban bumpers and simple trail obstacles. The Engwe P20’s choice of aluminum strikes a balance: you get roughly a 10 to 15 percent weight reduction over steel-framed e-bikes of similar class without the premium cost of full carbon, while still maintaining a robust structure for daily use.
