The Engwe EP-2 3.0 Boost comes equipped with semi slick tires, meaning the tread across the center of each tire is relatively smooth and flat, while shallow, low-profile knobs line the shoulders. In practice, this design reduces rolling resistance on paved roads and hard-packed surfaces, delivering a quicker, more efficient ride when you’re cruising city streets or bike paths.

At the same time, those edge knobs still provide a measure of bite when you lean into a turn or encounter light gravel or dirt trails. However, these tires aren’t meant for deep mud, loose sand, or aggressive off-road conditions—traction there will feel muted compared to more heavily knobbled or fully knobby tires.
