The Segway E2 Plus carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, meaning its critical electrical and mechanical components are protected against splashing water from any direction. In practical terms, this scooter can shrug off the occasional drizzle or splatter from wet roads without risking short-circuits or corrosion inside its frame. Riders won’t need to cut a ride short at the first sign of light rain.

That level of sealing also comes with clear limits: while you can confidently traverse damp streets and puddles, the E2 Plus is not designed for full immersion or sustained, high-pressure water jets. Avoid deep water crossings, prolonged downpours, or cleaning it under a strong hose. Doing so could overwhelm the IPX4 safeguards and compromise the scooter’s inner workings.

For daily commuters or urban explorers who may encounter wet sidewalks or light showers, IPX4 offers a good balance of protection without added bulk or cost. If you routinely ride in heavy rain or need to wash your scooter frequently under strong water streams, you might look for a higher rating. But for most city conditions—unexpected drizzles, street splashes, and routine cleaning with a damp cloth—the E2 Plus’s IPX4 rating proves more than adequate.
