The Ausom DT2 Pro carries an IP54 rating, which tells you it’s protected against limited dust ingress and against water splashes from any direction. The “5” in IP54 means the scooter’s internal components won’t suffer damage from dust particles larger than 1 mm — for instance, grains or sand kicked up on city streets. The “4” means it can handle spray or light rain at up to 10 liters per minute from all angles for at least five minutes without malfunctioning. Riders should still avoid riding through deep puddles or pressure-washing the scooter, as submersion or high-pressure jets exceed IP54 limits.

Compared with many electric scooters on the market, the DT2 Pro’s dust protection is a step above models rated only IPX4 (which cover water splashes but leave dust ingress unspecified). On the other hand, some higher-end or off-road scooters boast IP55 or IP65 ratings, meaning they can withstand heavier sprays or low-pressure washdowns. In this context, the DT2 Pro sits in the midrange: it’s more resilient than bare-bones commuters but not as rugged as those designed for consistently wet or muddy conditions.

This level of ingress protection matters most to urban commuters and weekend riders who face unpredictable weather or dusty construction zones. If you live in a region with occasional showers, morning mist or loose gravel on backroads, the DT2 Pro’s IP54 rating will give you confidence that light rain and dust won’t cut your ride short. However, if you routinely plan to ride through downpours or clean your scooter with a pressure washer, you may wish to look for a model with a higher IP rating.
